The 6th grade girls basketball team defeated Southwest, with a final score of 30-1. Congratulations to the girls on a total team effort. Maddie Evans was our lead scorer with 14 points. Megan Birkes contributed 6 points. Alexus Heidelberg scored 4 points. Gwendolyn Johnson, Sirena Pitts, and Emily Mackedon each added 2 points. Everyone played aggressive defensive. Thank you for the amazing fan support! The athletes love to see their administrators, teachers, and fellow classmates at the games. Go Grizzlies! : )
The 6th grade girl's basketball team defeated Carver in a 16-14 victory. Maddie Evans led the Lady Grizzlies scoring 10 points, including 2 crucial free throws to ensure our lead. Megan Birkes played an amazing defensive game. Good job Grizzlies! Come support us as we play Southwest at Gotha on Wednesday, November 1st.
The girl's 7th/8th grade team defeated Windy Ridge last night at home. The win was an entire team effort and improves Gotha 's record to 4-1. Gotha 's leading scorers were Taj - 15 points and Alexus with 11 points. Other offensive contributors were: Rachel -4 points, Sarah -2 points, and Alyssa - 2 points. The Grizzlies next game will be at home Monday November 13, 2006 against Carver. This will be Gotha 's last home game.
Congratulations to the Girl's 7th/8th Grade Basketball Team with their 28-22 victory over Southwest. This was a team victory as every player contributed on the offensive or defensive side of the game. Alexis with 12 points and Taj with 9 were the high scorers for the night. Kathleen added 4 points and Jakyra added 3. The girl's will play at home next Tuesday against Chain of Lakes and Wednesday against Windy Ridge. We would like to Thank all of you who came out to support us on Wednesday night and we will see you next week!
The 7th/8th grade boy's basketball team defeated Chain of Lakes last night 49-47. Sammy led the team with 12 points, Corian made the game tying free throw then snatched the rebound on his second shot and passed it to Antwoinne who scored the game winning basket at the buzzer to give us lead. It was an excellent game played both teams.
